What Is the Recovery Like for Gynecomastia Surgery?
Recovery is entirely dependent on the procedure performed. If liposuction is performed there will be swelling and bruising that will resolve gradually over the first 3 months. If a “keyhole” incision is made around your areola there will be bruising and the scar will take time to heal and then fade. If the double incision and free nipple graft procedure is performed the incision are larger and will take slightly longer to heal. Regardless of the technique, patients are instructed to wear a compressive garment over their chest for 4 weeks after surgery.
