Why Breast Reconstruction?
All women undergoing mastectomy should be offered breast reconstruction. Building a breast restores a feeling of wholeness and has been shown to be associated with improved patient satisfaction and psychological wellbeing. Whether you are getting a mastectomy or have undergone one in the past and are flat chested, a breast mount can be recreated using implants (called Alloplastic Breast Reconstruction) or with your own tissues (called Autologous Breast Reconstruction).
What Conditions Can Breast Reconstruction Treat?
- Breast Reconstruction at the time of Mastectomy (Immediate Breast Reconstruction)
- Breast Reconstruction in woman who is flat chested and had a previous Mastectomy (Delayed Breast Reconstruction)
- Patients with Implants who want to remove their implants and build a breast with their own tissues (Explant and DIEP Flap Reconstruction).
